Forest Fire at Yosemite National Park, California

Witnessed one of the biggest forest fire and got amazing chance to capture it with my camera. Forest fire was not known when we started hike, but soon after we reached the top it spread rapidly and affected some parts of our trail, so we were stuck at the Half Dome and got airlifted by helicopter.

Initially fire was only on the rightmost hill in the picture but due to strong wind it soon got into the valley and up the hill to the Cloud Nest. It is being said that $54+ million dollars has been spent on to control fire and rescue operations within 24 hours of the Forest Fire.

This is pretty wide view of complete Forest Fire and Clouds and it is stitched from 22 pictures taken at following settings.

Camera: Canon EOS 6D
